OM-X Plant Oil Combination
OM-X Plant Oil (Combination) is a rich source of polyunsaturated essential fatty acids (EFA) including
Omega-3,6 and 9, as well as the unique linoleic and linolenic acids. It also contains Vitamin E, tocopherol,
which acts as an antioxidant to fight aging, sterility and carcinogenic cells in the body. Unsaturated fatty
acids are important for the respiration of cells. Research has shown that a deficiency of unsaturated fatty
acids increases the risk of chronic diseases.
Fish oil has been shown to contain toxic contaminants and heavy metals because the oceans have been polluted.
On June 7, 1995, the environmental organization, Greenpeace, issued an independently conducted analysis of 22
brands of fish oil. In fish oil samples obtained from Norway, Japan, England, Iceland and Germany, 21 of the
22 brands were found to contain high levels of hazardous contaminants, specifically the organochlorine pesticides,
DDT and lindane, and PCBs. The report said that: "Anyone taking a therapeutic dose would reach 80% of the U.S. FDA
- mandated maximum levels for these pollutants."(Ref.: GormleyJJ. (1999) DMA - A Good Fat Essential for
Life)
OM-X Plant Oil (Combination) is made from the oils of natural seeds. The "cold extract" process is used so that
the properties and good qualities of these oils are retained and not destroyed particularly where high heat is
applied under other methods. These seeds are collected from the unpolluted mountains around Okayama, Japan.
They include seeds of:-
The following is an analysis of the individual ingredients contained in OM-X Plant Oil (Combination):
Avocado Seed Oil (10%)

Avocado seed oil is from the plant called
Persea americana and is rich in many therapeutic properties.
It is rich in Vitamins (A, B1, B2, D, G and E), amino acids (palmitic, stearic, oleic and linoleic),
panthothenic acid, protein, lecithin and essential fatty acids. Because of its high quality nutrition
content, it helps to fight heart diseases and improves the health status of cancer patients.
The phytochemical profile includes:
| Beta-sitosterol | - | cholesterol lowering plant sterol; |
| Gluthathione | - | an antioxidant; |
| Phytosterol | - | a cholesterol inhibitor and prevents cholesterol absorption from the intestine resulting in lower cholesterol levels. |
Corn Seed Oil (10%)

Corn seed oil is from the plant
Zea mays and it contains higher levels of oil and critical
amino acids. These amino acids are Lysine, Threonine and Tryptophan.
Studies have found that no vegetable oil is more effective than corn oil in lowering blood
cholesterol levels.
Flax Seed Oil (5%)
Flax seed oil is from the plant called
Linum usitarissimum and also known as linseed oil and
has Omega 3,6 and 9 fatty acids. Essential fatty acids or EFA are particularly valuable because the
body needs them to function properly and it works throughout the body to protect cell membranes, keeping
them efficient at admitting healthy substances while barring damaging ones.

Omega-3 is important in preventing heart disease because it thins blood and lowers cholesterol. It also
aids the production of prostaglandins, which regulate many functions of every body cell including nutrient
intake, division, pain sensations and blood clotting. Increased consumption of Omega-3 has also been linked
to increased emotional stability, control of dry skin and related problems, improvement of oestoarthritis
and bursitis and other joint degeneration diseases, relief from headache, urinary, cardiovascular, menopausal
and irritable bowel syndrome. Omega-6 tones the arteries. Omega-9 or monounsaturated fatty acids are found
in flaxseed oil as oleic acid and help to keep the arteries supple because of its fluidity as an oil. The key
is to maintain a proper balance of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids.
Prostaglandins are hormone like substances and leukotrienes. They direct the activities of every cell in
the body including division, nutrient uptake and waste expulsion, when to form a clot, when to feel pain,
stimulation of inflammation responses, when to lay down to absorb bone, when to wake up or sleep and many
other basic activities. An essential fatty acids deficiency interferes with the body's ability to produce
prostaglandins, limiting normal cell activity.
Flaxseed oil also contains high levels of lignans active polysaccharides that have anti-estrogenic,
anti-oxidative, anti-viral, antibacterial and anti-tumour properties and offer some protection against some
types of autoimmune diseases. In short it offers protection to the immune system of the body. The essential
fatty acids (Omega-3, -6. -9) support the glandular and structural systems of the body.
Flaxseed oil is also a rich source of calcium, iron, niacin, phosphorus and Vitamins A, B, D and E. Other
advantages of flaxseed oil over marine oil are flaxseed oil is a plant source alternative to an animal source
and is the only oil being extensively studied in clinical pilot studies as a remedy for a wide range of
illness.
Flaxseed Oil helps:
- To lower cholesterol, protects against heart disease and controls high blood pressure. 5-year study at
Boston's Simmons College found that flaxseed prevents second heart attacks. It also protects elevated
blood pressure by inhibiting inflammatory reactions that is responsible for hardening of plaques.
- To counter inflammation associated with gout, lupus and fibrocystic disease. Omega 3 fatty acids have
anti-inflammatory properties. It helps to reduce pain and swelling of joint inflammation and breast
pain in fibrocystic breast disease.
- To control constipation, piles, diverticular disease and gallstone, through anti-inflammatory properties.
To treat acne, eczema, psoriasis, sunburn and rosacea. In acne, essential fatty acids encourages thinning
of the oily sebum that clogs the pores. In eczema, psoriasis and rosacea, essential fatty acids have
anti-inflammatory actions and overall skin-soothing properties.
- To promote healthy growth of hair and nails. Lower levels of essential fatty acids results in dry and
lackluster locks. Essential fatty acids nourish dry and brittle nails, preventing them from cracking
or splitting.
- To minimize nerve damage that causes numbness and tingling sensation. Essential fatty acids in flaxseed
oil assists in the transmission of nerve impulses. Potentially valuable in helping numbness and tingling
sensation. Possible use in diabetic neuropathy and multiple sclerosis.
- To reduce cancer risk and guard against the effects of aging. Lignans helps to reduce risk of breast,
prostate and perhaps, skin cancer. Essential fatty acids protect cell membrane structure and function.
Green Tea Seed Oil (10%)
Green tea seed oil is extracted from the tea plant called
Camillia sinesis, and it is widely known for
its use as a potent antioxidant, and cancer - preventer and fighter.
The oil contains a special class of bioflavonoids, high in catechin polyphenols, particularly
Epigallocatechin
Gallate (EGCG), which contains powerful antioxidant properties. The polyphenol groups are extremely active
to increase the level of antioxidants in the body, which neutralize free radicals before they cause cell damage
and other pro-oxidants. They are thought to block the attachment of carcinogens and bacteria to cells and support
healthy liver function. These bioflavonoids also help to maintain healthy gums, prevent "bad breath" and blocks
attachment of bacteria to teeth protecting against cavities.

Researchers have found that EGCG is 200 times more powerful than Vitamin E in neutralizing pro-oxidants and
free radicals that attack lipids (oils and fats) and 20 times more potent than Vitamin E in reducing formation
of dangerous and potentially mutagenic peroxides that form rancid fats and lard. Like Vitamin C, polyphenols
may block the formation of nitrosamines and other cancer causing compounds and may trap or detoxify
carcinogens.
Green tea seed oil may also exert an estrogen blocking effect that is helpful in preventing colon, stomach,
small intestine, pancreas, lungs, breast and uterine cancer and another study suggests that it might prevent
the development of tumours by blocking the growth of new blood vessels to feed these tumours.
EGCG is also known to confer protection against respiration and digestive functions and food poisoning while
encouraging acidophilus growth and regularizing bowel habits. In laboratory studies, 500 mg. of green tea catechins
per day has significantly lowered blood pressure and increased anti-mutagenic activity. At very high levels
(0.5% to 1% of daily diet) green tea catechins reduced high total-cholesterol levels as well as LDL-cholesterol
levels.
A study conducted by Dr. Nakachi and his co workers (Japan J Cancer Res. Vol 89 (3) : 254-261, 1998 March),
has shown that green tea extract has inhibitory effects on the growth of cancer cells and lung metastasis.
The study was conducted with patients having Stage I, Stage II and Stage III breast cancer. Dr. Nakachi and his
associates found that increased consumption of green tea extract was correlated with decreased recurrence of Stage I
and Stage II breast cancer. However, there was not any improvement in the prognosis in Stage III breast
cancer.
Olive Seed Oil (5%)
Olive seed oil is from the plant called
Olea europaea and is a compound composed of essential fatty acids,
vitamins and water-soluble components. Its primary essential fatty acids are oleic and linoleic. Oleic acid is
monounsaturated and comprises 55% - 85% of the oil, while linoleic acid is polyunsaturated and is approximately
9% of the oil. Olive seed oil is rich with polyphenols, a plant anti-oxidant.

Polyphenols have been shown to reduce coronary artery disease and lowers blood pressure. These antioxidants
can reduce nitric acid levels, a substance in the body known to raise blood pressure.
Effect of olive oil on cholesterol - it is high in calories but its fat is mostly monounsaturated, with a
desirable concentration of Vitamin E and phenols (antioxidants). Consumption of the oil has a very positive
effect on blood cholesterol levels - reduces total and LDL whilst maintaining levels of HDL cholesterol.
Potential role of olive oil in cancer prevention - certain studies conducted have suggested that consumption of
olive oil may have some type of protective effect against cancer unlike consumption of some other fats, like
butter, which may be associated with increased cancer risks.
Potential role of olive oil in reducing risk of arthritis - results of study on people living in Greece
suggested that eating hearty amounts of olive oil, as a substitute for other types of fats, might reduce the
risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis.
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammation of the joints - although its cause is unknown, genes, infectious
agents, hormones and diet have been linked as possible causes.
Rice Skin Oil (40%)
Rice skin oil is from the plant called Oryza sativa and contains a balanced profile of saturated and unsaturated
fatty acids.

Oryzanol, which is present in rice skin oil, has the ability to reduce the harmful cholesterol (LDL) without
reducing good cholesterol (HDL).
Tocotrienol is the most precious and powerful vitamin E existing in nature and has an anti-cancer property.
As a Vitamin-E source, rice oil is rich not only in alpha tocopherol but also has the highest amount of
Tocotrienol in liquid form compared to other plant oils.
Clinical studies have shown that the presence of the above compounds contributes to the following effects:
- Reduces the circulating lipid levels and maintains cholesterol homeostasis in the body. It significantly
lowers the level of total cholesterol;
- A potent antimutagen (anticarcinogen) and it can prevent carcinogenisis even if a carcinogen has entered the
system;
- Excellent oxidative stability;
- Good for skin nutrition and maintains the integrity of skin.
Sunflower Seed Oil (20%)

Sunflower seed oil is from the plant called
Helianthus annus. The primary essential fatty acids are oleic
(Omega-9) and linoleic acids (Omega-6). Sunflower seeds are high in protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron,
potassium and a high concentration of Vitamin E.
In herbal medicine, sunflower seeds are made into an infusion to treat whooping cough. In Russia, they
are utilized to treat malaria and in skin care formula. Sunflower seed oil acts as an emollient to form a
protective layer and prevent drying.
